Laotian culture takes pride in its unique mosaic art, best displayed in the Buddhist temple of Wat Xieng Thong. Like other architectural examples throughout the country, this temple also exemplifies aspects of French architecture but there is something in store here which you may not have seen in any Buddhist temples within this region – a reclining Buddha!
The sheer size of Asia makes it a hotspot for diverse geographical specimens,with Si Phan Don, an archipelago of islands being one such example. The charms of this place can leave the eyes mesmerized are represented by mystical waterfalls such as Khon Papheng Falls and Khon Pa Soi Falls – the former, however, is the highlight of the miracle of Mekong. On a weekday, it is easy to find picnic spots around the area, just pack a nice basket and you’re good to go for the day.
